What Vernon homeowners say
“Mike is great and the material is amazing and fabulous. The cost is too expensive for our family.”
“If it is still tight in five years, then yes. I think that they could improve on communication with scheduling.”
“I'm looking forward to the summer months to see how much cooler my house will be.”
“We had our Interlock metal roof installed this summer and had the pleasure of dealing with Dave Olafson who thoroughly informed us of all the benefits of an Interlock roof and all of the various options available. Mr. Olafson was very easy to get along with, professional, answered all of our questions and helped us with our final decision.”

Roofing in Vernon: what to plan for
Built for fire season
The Okanagan has lived through serious wildfire seasons, and many homes sit on forested or grassy slopes. Class A is available on our roofs as a complete assembly (two layers of GAF VersaShield® over 12 mm (15/32-inch) plywood, per ASTM E108), and aluminum does not ignite. We walk the gutters, vents and roof edges with you, because that is where embers get in.
Hot, dry summers
Summer sun is hard on asphalt and cedar. Interlock's Alunar® colours are rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council, and the manufacturer's coating warranty spells out the fade and chalk limits.
Real winters too
Vernon, the Shuswap and the benches above the lake get snow. A metal roof sheds it, so snow guards over entries, decks and driveways go in at the estimate, not after the first slide.
Light on the framing
Interlock panels weigh roughly 2 to 3.5 kg per square metre depending on profile, a fraction of concrete tile, which leaves the structure's capacity for snow.
